LEESIDE HALLOWEEN JAME SKATE VIDEO

Leeside Skatepark in Vancouver, BC, is a two-sided tunnel jam-packed with graffiti and street art from famous artists all over the world and skaters of the highest caliber. For last year’s Halloween celebration, costumed dudes soared around explosions and bottle-rockets while Zenga Bros created an amazing skate video for our enjoyment.

This is one of the funner-looking skate videos I have ever seen.

MARKISA SKATE PROMO VIDEO

ASCK has been posting a lot of skating videos lately. But that’s only because so many dope skating videos have been dropping of late.

This promo for Markisa’s new products, which you can pick up at their online store, shows Furby, Theotis Beasley, Thomas Leurentop, Issey Yumiba, Oscar Meza, James Espinoza, Money Mike, Aaron Babilla and Kevin Romar hitting trick after trick after trick in rapid succession.

Definitely worth the three minutes of your time.

Another ill skating video from my streetwear blog.

LEGO LIMITED EDITION MOLESKINE NOTEBOOK

If you’re not afraid that holding these things in your back pocket may give you some sort of cancer in your pelvic region, then MoleSkine notebooks are some of the most handy little flexible sketchbooks around (I remember seeing that Prop 65 warning on the books at my local art store and still almost buying one anyway a few months back because they’re so awesome, but getting a stern warning from the shop owner).

And if you learned to harness your creativity through LEGOs like I did, then the newest in MoleSkine’s series of products inspired by pop icons like Pac-Man, Star Wars, and Woodstock may be just for you.

Offered up in four different Ruled and Plain Notebook versions, each contains a printed themed flyleaf, an inner pocket, a color-coordinated bookmark and 10 adhesive labels representing LEGO bricks and LEGO men to personalize your records and pages.

They’ll be available starting March 1st at the MoleSkine store and at retailers.

Forget your testicles and get this awesome notebook.

CITYHOPPER: SVEN BOEKHORST BLADING VIDEO

While I’ve shown you incredible blading videos before, I haven’t really gotten into the alternate and potentially more risky side of the sport, which is made up of vert and high-flying aerial feats of glory.

Dutch rollerblader Sven Boekhorst shows that not only do bladers have to have more style than skaters with a board beneath their feet to trick with, but that they often have to have more balls to make a lasting impression, as well when he decided to test out the Rollerblade SB Pro Skates by flying over cities all over Netherlands.

Skateboarders may call it fruit-booting, but bladers have mad style, yo.

 Holla Holland!

THRASHER: KING OF THE ROAD FT. LAKAI (END OF THE LINE) SKATING VIDEO

Being the most widely known yet waning in its popularity, the revolution that skateboarding made to the sports arena through the personal and expressive experience provided in its execution is something to be marveled at.

International skating magazine Thrasher gives us its final episode in a series that encapsulates the fun and camaraderie that can be found in skating as it wraps up its King of the Road miniseries in the City of Angels.

Episode 13 sees Lakai taking home the trophy over the Vans, Nike SB and Dekline teams, while giving a highlight reel of a glorious trip and some wild skating at the Scientology Center and through the pee bottle challenge.

SMART PHONE INSPIRED PYS X REEBOK PUMP TWILIGHT ZONE BBERRY

Featuring a design inspired by smartphones, these badass Pick Your Shoes collab sneakers - the first of a three part collaboration - feature a design that looks more like the sneakers from an age where cell phones were almost as big as the tongues on Reebok’s high tops.

The tongue and toe feature a ‘B’ logo and print that you’ll recognize right away, and green and red Energy Return System tubes look just like the ‘answer’ and ‘end call’ buttons we’re all familiar with in today’s age of technology.

With a classy mix of retro and modern design elements, these sneakers will be dropping soon at PickYourShoes.

I kinda really want to rock these.

ENDLESS ROADS 3 - LAND OF CASTLES LONGBOARDING GIRLS CREW

I’m about to hit you with three separate skating videos, from three separate genres of skating. Each one has its own style and separates itself from the others in compelling ways. Never being a skater because I couldn’t rip myself from the basketball court, I’ve always appreciated skating and those who can do it, as you might know from previous awe-inspiring posts.

The first of these videos follows a group of the cute skater chicks from the Longboard Girls Crew, sharing vastly different cultures as they tear Spain up in Episode 3 of their four-part series, Endless Roads.

The series is beautifully composed and edited by Juan Rayos, and gives a great look at the joy that can be found in spending time with people who love the same things you do, even if they can’t directly communicate with you.

NIKE DUNK HIGH AC KHAKI

The Nike Dunk High is undeniably my favorite sneaker model in history. I have worked on Nike Dunks since I started in this industry, and they have treated me well for years. Nike has decided to treat me even better this year with a pair of Nike Dunk ACs that have a dope casual/dressed-up feel that I just can’t live without.

The khaki toned suede upper with subtle hints of white in the tongue sits atop an autoclaved (AC - pretty much vulcanized rubber) sole that has a very Blazer-type feel.

Buy these shoes now for just over €100 at overseas retailers like Titolo.

Not sure if I want these more or these.

WE ARE 138 - SBTG MINI DOCUMENTARY

This video is beautiful. If you like art or sneakers, or even family or culture, you should watch it.

SBTG is one of the first custom shoe designers in the history of the art form, and this video provides insights into his life, how he got to where he is, and most importantly why he has chosen shoes as his canvas to get his artistic expressions out and into the world. He takes us into his home in Singapore and discusses privately what the country means to him and how he sees his work within its scope of culture.

It is a story of innovation, determination, and hard work through inspiration, and it is something you should certainly watch. It’s under 7 minutes and beautifully composed by Skylar Nielsen.

VANS OTW 2012 ADVOCATE VIDEO

Vans made big news into 2012 when they announced that Lupe Fiasco would join many other creative individuals to serve as line Advocates and OTW designers. At the Bread and Butter trade show next week, Lupe will join his new partners in Berlin for a special launch event.

The event will stream live on Stickam on January 18th at http://www.stickam.com/vans1966, but if you reside in Berlin a limited number of tickets are available here.

The video is a great photo journal and interviews of a bunch of inspiring people, and I suggest checking it out.

I did an art show with Lupe Fiasco once. He got two of my homie Shplinton’s paintings. He is a cool guy.
