This Looks Shopped of the Day: Accompanying Touré’s controversial ESPN magazine article “What if Michael Vick were white?” (a title he didn’t pick) is an equally controversial photo illustration by D’arcy Hyde that nearly rivals a certain Korean comic strip in its creepiness.
The controversial shopjob was initially removed, allegedly in response to complaints, but was soon restored.
For what it’s worth, Touré doesn’t like it either. “I had no idea they’d put a pic of Vick in whiteface,” he tweeted. “Makes no sense w an essay saying it’s impossible to re-imagine him as white?”
