kentballs answered: As a writer I’ve dated a few girls who corrected my grammar or told me they thought my writing was bad. It made me want to be better.

I don’t mean supporting you through constructive criticism. I can’t imagine an artist of the true sense of the word that would just want his partner to tell him everything he did was a masterpiece, I just mean someone that no matter what just always disliked your work. Like his or her taste was what you would consider “bad,” as it didn’t align with what you enjoyed creating.
